Soldier arrested for hijacking fuel tanker, others for theft and robbery


A soldier, Corporal Akapan Edet, 28. serving at the 81 Battalion, Mokola, Ibadan has been arrested along with four others for hijacking a fuel Laden truck along Akobo, Iwo road on 17 /11/ 2017. .

The criminal gang, is responsible for waylaying and subsequent hijacking of trucks along expressway. The gang led by the soldier who was clad in full military camouflage, hijacked a 40,000 litre truck and abducted the driver and his motor boy to Omi-Adio area after robbing them of their valuables. .

The truck was thereafter driven to Ilese/Akure road by some of the gang members. The victims raised alarm which brought about the arrest of the suspects by Special Anti robbery squad of the command. .

The special Anti-Robbery Squad of the command recently arrested an employee of George Investment Company, Ibadan who stole six Sino trucks, and a Toyota Camry car belonging to the company that were entrusted in his care. .

The six trucks were sold to a criminal receiver in Kaduna at rate of N20million, while a Toyota Camry was given to a yet to be identify Pastor in Abuja. The six trucks and two cars was recovered back and receiver arrested as well. .

Three members of armed robbery gang arrested by the Command. The suspect who until their arrest belonged to a dare-devil armed robbery gang responsible for the spate of robbery in some parts of Ogun and Oyo States. .

On 19/12/2017, one Yusuf Ishola aged 30, was arrested with 294 pieces of counterfeit N1000 notes. The suspect and one other at large, often fraudulently used the fake notes to purchase expensive items from unsuspecting individuals and notable shops in Ogbomoso and other parts of the state.

2020 UTME: Advice to all UTME/DE candidates ahead of registration

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, says over 650 Computer Based Test, centres have so far been accredited for its upcoming 2020 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination. The board has fixed this year’s examination for March 14 to April 4, while an optional mock examination for candidates is scheduled for February 18. Similarly, the board had said that it would commence the sales of its registration documents from Monday, January 13, to Monday, February 17. Woman sells her husband for N6000 to buy New year clothes

A Kenyan woman identified as Edna Mukwana has reportedly sold off her husband to his mistress, The Standard reports. According to reports, she was said to have contacted the mistress to pay her Ksh 200 to keep the husband after catching him in bed with the said mistress. The mistress was said to have sent her Ksh 1700(N 6000) which she said she used to buy clothes for her children. The Kenyan woman said: ”  My husband is married to alcohol and whoring around. I told the woman who has been misleading him to send me Ksh 2000 but she sent me Ksh 1700 instead. I have used all the money to buy new year clothes for my children” And when asked if she will accept him back, Mukwana said; ”I can’t. I don’t want to get into the new year with the 2019 nuisance ”
