The painful death of Unilorin best graduating Student.


Miss Taofiqah Oloriegbe of Faculty of Engineering, University of Ilorin, UNILORIN, billed to graduate as a Second Class Upper student in the forthcoming 33rd convocation of the institution, has died Few days to her graduation.

She only complained about having pains in her hand and later died,” one of her friends said.



Reacting to her death, the Public Relations Officer of the UNILORIN, Mr. Kunle Akogun, confirmed the death of the student through a text message.

Akogun said, “The late Oloriegbe, a second class upper graduate, was billed to graduate on Saturday at the 33rd convocation of the UNILORIN. She died on Monday after suddenly taking ill in the process of preparing for her upcoming graduation. May her gentle soul rest in peace.”

It was gathered that the news of her death broke via a Facebook post of a family friend of the deceased.

The Facebook post, read: “Subhanallah: What a sudden and untimely death of a rare gem! She’s Taofeeqah Oloriegbe, a sister to my friend Dammy Oloriegbe.


“Being one of the best yet-to-be announced graduating students of engineering and few days to her convocation, she left this sinful world after a brief illness.

“May Allah grant her eternal rest with His pious servants and grant the families the fortitude to bear the loss.”


The institution’s Students’ Union president, Comrade. Adebisi Abimbola, who said Oloriegbe’s death was shocking and painful, described her as gentle, friendly and hard-working student.

A visit to the family house of the deceased at Alore area of the state capital also showed that relations and family members were mourning mood

It was gathered that Miss Taofeeqah Oloriegbe was a sickle cell Patient.

Residents of the area were also seen in groups discussing the untimely death of the young, brilliant and promising student.


They prayed God to grant the deceased perfect peace and Aljanah Firdaos.

Woman sells her husband for N6000 to buy New year clothes

A Kenyan woman identified as Edna Mukwana has reportedly sold off her husband to his mistress, The Standard reports. According to reports, she was said to have contacted the mistress to pay her Ksh 200 to keep the husband after catching him in bed with the said mistress. The mistress was said to have sent her Ksh 1700(N 6000) which she said she used to buy clothes for her children. The Kenyan woman said: ”  My husband is married to alcohol and whoring around.
