The Kenyan police have arrested a middle-aged man identified as Mbiti Munyao,in Kangundo constituency, Machakos, for allegedly raping two goats to death. . . According to the area assistant Chief Mary Mulwa, Munyao was seen pulling the two goats from a bush where the animals had been tied on Saturday, January 13. The two goats were said to have taken their last breath after Munyao was done with them. . . The accused was charged and bailed for sh100, 000 after he pleaded not guilty to the accusation. INEC Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu The Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Mahmood Yakubu, has assured Nigerians that their votes will determine the outcome of the 2019 general elections and future polls in the country. The Ogun State Police Command has arrested a health worker, Yewande Gbadebo, for allegedly using a hot knife to inflict injuries on the body of her 17-year-old housemaid. The mother of two, who resides in Imala community in Abeokuta, was said to have accused the victim of eating bread belonging to her without approval. Ms. Gbadebo who works at Community Health Centre in Erunbe located in Abeokuta South Local Government Area of the state, was arrested after the alleged crime was reported to the police by the Committee for Defence on Human Rights, CDHR, Ogun State Chapter. The CDHR said following a tipoff, its Chairman, Olayinka Folarin, in company of another official of Child Protection Network, CPN, on Wednesday traced the suspect to her shop in Iberekodo area of Abeokuta. The committee then resolved to hand over the maid (victim) to the police, a development which led to the arrest of the suspect. The police fired shots on Wednesday morning in Abuja as they forcefully dispersed protesting members of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria, IMN. . . Hundreds of IMN members started their protest from Garki Area 10 heading towards Area 1 shortly before they were barricaded by armed security operatives at Moshood Abiola Road on Area 2 junction of the Nigerian capital. A messenger, Malam Abubakar Shu’aibu, 45, of Government Secondary School, Aminu Marmara, Sabongari Zaria, Kaduna State, on Tuesday slumped into a coma shortly after receiving his sack letter. A witness, who confirmed to the News Agency of Nigeria on condition of anonymity, said the incident happened on Tuesday morning shortly after the affected person received his sack letter. On Saturday, armed robbers attacked Nollywood actor, John Okafor aka Mr Ibu, at his Lagos residence, carting away about N14.3m cash as well as other properties. . . A man was killed after a moving trailer collided with a stationary one going through repairs. The man who was killed and another man were with the stationary trailer. He was sleeping under it while the other man stood behind it. According to reports, the impact of the moving trailer pushed the stationary one backward that it climbed the man who was under it. One of the five Badoo cult suspects paraded on Thursday at the Lagos State Police Command headquarters in Ikeja, 18-year-old Chibuzor Igwe, says he was tricked into joining Badoo cult. January 2, 2018 The Serving Overseer of the Latter Rain Assembly, Pastor Tunde Bakare, has said God has told him not to end his political career as he had earlier contemplated. I join my fellow citizens this morning to welcome and celebrate the New Year 2018. This year promises to be pivotal in our quest for CHANGE.  Unfortunately ,  I am saddened to acknowledge that for many this  Christmas and New Year holidays have been anything but merry and happy. Instead of showing love, companionship and charity, some of our compatriots chose this period to inflict severe hardship on us all by creating unnecessary fuel scarcity across the country. The consequence was that not many could travel and the few  who  did had to pay exorbitant trans port fares. This is unacceptable  given that NNPC had taken measures to  ensure availability at all depo ts. I am determined to get to the root of this collective blackmail of all Nigerians and ensure that whichever groups are behind this manipulated hardship will be prevented from doing so again.
