Shiite member shot in the head during Abuja protest

The police fired shots on Wednesday morning in Abuja as they forcefully dispersed protesting members of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria, IMN.

Hundreds of IMN members started their protest from Garki Area 10 heading towards Area 1 shortly before they were barricaded by armed security operatives at Moshood Abiola Road on Area 2 junction of the Nigerian capital.

The Shiites insisted on continuing with their peaceful march. The police eventually used tear gas and gunshots to disperse them. At least one of the protesters was hit. .

The Shiites are demanding the release of their leader, Ibrahim El-Zakzaky, who has been held without trial by the government for almost two years.

When I was in 300L, UNILORIN, my hostel got robbed. The assailants hacked a girl with a cutlass on her cheek bone, very close to her eye. She was cooking when the attack happened & had a short skirt and tank top on. It was her distress call that brought me out. I took her to the school clinic. We got to the gate and we got delayed by the guards. They kept on asking for ID Card. I had my purse & my card was in it. But the girl was bleeding out, barely holding in place. I had to BEG for them to let us in. It was a mess. We got to the clinic & instead of them giving DY first Aid, they started asking us why she wasn't with her ID Card. The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, says over 650 Computer Based Test, centres have so far been accredited for its upcoming 2020 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination. The board has fixed this year’s examination for March 14 to April 4, while an optional mock examination for candidates is scheduled for February 18. Similarly, the board had said that it would commence the sales of its registration documents from Monday, January 13, to Monday, February 17. The Head, Media and Information of the board, Dr Fabian Benjamin, told the News Agency of Nigeria on Sunday in Lagos that arrangements for the commencement of the sales of the documents nationwide had been concluded.
